1. Who is responsible for your data

LabEight Advisory LTD operates Handover and is the controller of the personal data described here. Contact us at hello@labeight.tech.

2. What we collect

Account details: your name, email address and a password (stored only as a hash).

Business information you provide: documents and figures about the business you are preparing for sale, such as accounts, management information, tax and payroll records and contracts. These can include personal data about owners, employees and customers.

Records of what you do: sign-in and activity records, the time and IP address when you accept terms or sign an agreement, and technical data needed to keep the service secure.

3. How we use it, and why

To provide the service you asked for: analysing your documents, producing reports and, if you ask, presenting the business to buyers. Our basis is performing our contract with you.

To keep the service secure, prevent misuse, keep an audit trail of important actions such as signing an agreement, and meet legal obligations. Our basis is our legitimate interests and legal duties.

To email you about your account and your deals. We do not sell personal data, and we do not use your documents ourselves to train AI models.

4. Who we share it with

Service providers that run the platform on our instructions: hosting and storage, email delivery, and AI model providers used to read and analyse documents.

Prospective buyers, only after you ask us to publish a deal. Before a buyer signs a confidentiality agreement they see an anonymised summary; after, they see what the deal room contains.

Professional advisers and authorities where the law requires or where we need advice to protect our rights.

Some providers may process data outside the UK. Where they do, we rely on appropriate safeguards.

5. How long we keep it

We keep your information while your account is open and as needed to provide the service. You can ask us to delete your data. We may keep a limited record, such as signed agreements and the audit trail, for as long as needed to meet legal obligations or deal with claims.

6. Your rights

You can ask to see, correct, delete, restrict or move your personal data, and object to certain uses. Contact hello@labeight.tech. If you are unhappy with how we handle it, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).

7. Changes

We will update this notice when our practices change and record the version in force when you accept it.
